Gator Bites Week of October 31st, 2016

posted Oct 28, 2016, 7:20 PM by David Willoughby
Good Evening Sherratt Families!

**Please be sure to read to the bottom of each Gator Bites to find important attachments!!

We are excited to see all the costumes your child may wear on Monday morning! A reminder that no food or treats may be shared at school at any time. We have many children with food allergies and aversions. We need to be extra vigilant during times of celebration. If you do allow your child a piece of candy in their lunches after Halloween, please ensure they are nut free!

Please ensure you read our messages regarding Halloween and our Food Drive!

To all of our families celebrating Diwali on Sunday: May the festival of lights be the harbinger of joy and prosperity. As the holy occasion of Diwali is here and the atmosphere is filled with the spirit of mirth and love, here's hoping this festival of beauty brings your way, bright sparkles of contentment, that stay with you through the days ahead.
Best wishes on Diwali and New year.

In Partnership,

Robert Iannuzzi
Colleen Golightly
and the Staff of Sam Sherratt

Halloween is fast approaching and the students are already talking about their costumes! All primary students are permitted to dress up on Halloween or they may wear black and orange if they prefer. Please, no scary costumes, masks or weapons. We will begin parading through the school at 9:00 starting with the Kindergarten classes and then picking up all of the primary classes as we proceed down the hall. Parents are invited to watch the parade in the mall area after signing in at the office. We are looking forward to watching our annual Gator Halloween Parade!

"Hey Gators! Some of our grade 7 students have taken on the leadership role of organizing our annual "Halloween for Hunger" fundraiser. Starting this week and ending on Halloween, they are asking that students bring in a canned good, or a toonie, to help support two great causes. Food will be going to local shelters to help people in our community, while the money will be going to support the Hurricane Matthew relief! The class with the most raised have a chance of winning a pizza party, and everyone gets a chance to wear their costumes first block on Halloween (or not, whatever you want) - either way, we support people in need, and that's what counts!"
