Gator Bites: Week of November 18th

Good Evening Gators

Our Scholastic book fair was a huge success again this

year thanks to our wonderful kids and community support! We raised a ton of money to promote literacy in our school and therefore students will be able to enjoy many new books in the LLC. It is so amazing to see how excited the kids are about books! Congratulations to the many students who won free books.

A special thank you to all the parent volunteers who came in to set-up, help with sales or pack up the bookfair. I would also like to mention the outstanding support we receive from Mrs. Laurie Wozniak who is so committed to supporting our kids in the LLC on a weekly basis and during book fairs!

Sam Sherratt Marching Gators in the Milton Santa Claus Parade

Our Marching Band participated in the Milton Santa Claus Parade last Sunday.  They did a fantastic job marching, performing and representing our school. Well done Gators!  A big thank you to Mr. Hull for all your work with our talented students, as well as Mr. Taylor, Ms. Cameron, Ms. Couture and Ms. Morgan for your support.  Thank you to all the students and parents that came out to cheer us on.

If you missed it, you can catch a glimpse of them at 3:34 here:

Winter Clothing Event

Thank you to all the families who donated items and came out to help support our Re-use winter clothing event! It was well attended, and many of our families were able to swap some winter clothes! Thank you!

Silent Auction

School Council is hosting a Silent Auction during the Winter Concert evening on Thursday, December 5th.  Each class has been assigned a theme. Please donate items from the suggested ideas or other appropriately themed items by Friday, November 29th - your child can bring their items to class. Please see the attachment for the items each class will be collecting.

All proceeds will go towards our S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiatives at Sam Sherratt Public School. Thank you for your support!

Holiday Extravaganza

Our parent council will be hosting our Holiday Extravaganza again this year. Please save your contributions as we will be collecting them after December 5th 2019.

This year the Kindergarten team would like to raise some funds for our Outdoor Education. We decided to partner with Samko and Miko sales in order to do this. If you shop at these stores, in person or online (Use code NFSSPS-F19) between November 25 and December 8th, you tell them you are part of the Sam Sherratt Fundraiser.  They will stamp your receipt. (Unstamped receipts will not be accepted).

Next you send the receipt into the school Attention: Debbie Lowry K-2

Once all the receipts are in, we mail them to Samko & Miko. They will then give us a cheque for 10% of all sales before taxes.

Have a look at the attached flyer.  SAMKO FUNDRAISER
