Good Evening Sherratt Families!
What happened to winter?? It has been a mild week at Sherratt, many indoor recesses due to rain! We were entertained mid week by Mrs Paulson's class and their Project Runway. It was a great opportunity to come together as a school and celebrate the learning of our Grade Eight Class.
Our School Community is under a Boundary Review. Please keep yourself informed and visit the HDSB website to read up on the current scenarios and complete a Feedback Form to have your voice heard.
Outside for Breaks
A reminder that we do go outside for all breaks that we can and students are expected to be prepared to go out and enjoy the fresh air. There is no indoor supervision during nutrition breaks, therefore when you send your child to school it is expected they are well enough to participate in the academic and recess portions of the day. If your child has had a recent surgery, or has medical documentation to support them not going out for break, please be sure to inform the office so we can make proper arrangements.
With the recent decision by McDonalds Canada this week to cease being a peanut free restaurant, we want to remind our families that food that contains nuts should not be brought to school in lunchboxes or dropped off during the day. Students are expected to only eat the food that has been provided from home, or through our healthy snack program/hot lunch program. A reminder that we do not accept food for celebrations. If you want to bring in something for a celebration we suggest non-food related treats such as pencils or stickers.
Have a wonderful weekend!
and the Staff of Sam Sherratt
