Gator Bites: Week of January 16th

posted Jan 16, 2017, 7:08 AM by David Willoughby ‎[Staff]‎

Good Evening Sherratt Families!

Happy New Year and Welcome Back to Sherratt!  We hope you all enjoyed the Winter Break!  We are so excited to be back at school doing what we love every day!  Our Students have been challenged to set new goals to start off their new year, and make a plan to be successful! This is a great time for families to set some goals for 2017 as well!

Entry and Exit Routines

Thank you to all our Gator families in support our Entry and Exit routine changes. Bus students are now entering along the West Pathway, and ensuring their Kindergarten Buses are arriving safely to our new gated Kindergarten Enclosure. A big thank you to Mrs Turjuman, Ms Donaldson and Mrs Riaz with all your efforts in creating new safe entry routines for our Kindergarten students.

Boundary Changes

As you know, our school is involved in the Milton Elementary Boundary Review. Next Tuesday, January 17th is the public meeting in which the final 4 scenarios will be shared and public input will be considered. We strongly urge any family who may be affected to check out the possible scenarios and stay informed. A final decision is expected by March 2017. More information can be found on the HDSB website.

Reminder: Visitors Must Sign In

A reminder to parents who are visiting our school as a volunteer that you must first stop by the main office to sign in and get a visitor's badge. This informs us who is in the building, and ensures we are compliant for Fire Safety. Please return your badge to the office and sign out when leaving.   If you are picking up your child at the end of the day, students are dismissed out the rear doors and can be met on the blacktop.

In Partnership,

Robert Iannuzzi

Colleen Golightly

and the Staff of Sam Sherratt
