Gator Bites: Week of February 12th

posted Feb 9, 2018, 8:12 PM by David Willoughby ‎[Staff]‎
Good Evening Gator Families! It’s been a busy snow filled week at school!!

We had “Director’s Cut” in the school working with our grade 7 students, creating some unique and interesting films, while learning about the art of directing.

We had our Dance-a-thon kick off assembly with the whole school. The students are very excited for the Dance-a-thon, which takes place at school on February 15th, 2018.

Parking Lot Reminder to parents: If you are using the “kiss and ride area” of the parking lot, please pull up as far as you can outside of doors 3 and 4 in order to keep the flow of traffic moving. We have seen many children being dropped off in the middle of the parking lot or at the top end of the parking lot. This is not a drop off zone, we want all of our students to be safe around moving cars.

Grade 8 Ottawa Trip Reminder: There is a second payment that is due for the Ottawa Trip coming up on Feb 16th, 2018, for those students who have already registered for the trip.

Have your Say Parent Survey:

In our effort to increase school effectiveness, the Halton District School Board is inviting you to participate in our online Have Your Say survey. As our partner in education, your input is valued and appreciated. We recognize your involvement is critical to student success which is why we’re inviting you to complete this online survey to tell us what you think about Sam Sherratt. We are inviting parents to respond to questions related to their child’s school, such as: learning opportunities, communication, involvement in the school, technology use, equitable and inclusive learning environments, and transportation. The information gathered from the survey will help our school continue to create a positive environment, inform our School Improvement and Well-Being plans, and allow parents to have a voice in creating a supportive community at Sam Sherratt Public School.

The survey will be open to all parents of children in the Halton District School Board from February 5, 2018 to March 9, 2018. Your responses are anonymous and the questionnaire will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Surveys are available in the following languages: English, Punjabi, Urdu, Arabic, Mandarin, and Hindi.
