posted Dec 6, 2019, 4:12 PM by David Willoughby ‎[Staff]‎

Good Evening Gators!

Thank you to all of our families for supporting our Winter Concert and Silent Auction fundraiser. It was a well attended event! We are so proud of our talented students!  Thank you to Mr. Hull, Ms. Neate and Ms. Swift for all the work put into organizing the concert, Ms. Brazeau for all her work with our Choir, Mr. Taylor for his work with the Marching Gators and all our staff who helped teach their class the adorable songs they sang, and stayed last night to help us have a fantastic show.   A big thank you to the Parent Council for organizing the Silent Auction fundraiser and coffee/treats generously donated by Starbucks on Kennedy Circle and Longo's on Maple Avenue.  Thank you to everyone who joined us for some Sam Sherratt Magic last night!

Holiday Extravaganza

Parent council will be holding the Holiday Extravaganza this year on Friday December 13th.  We are in need of donations to make this exciting event a success!

We are looking for donations of books, games, household items, trinkets, knickknacks,  toys, etc. Think garage sale items! Donations should be in good condition and "giftable".  We will gladly accept new items as well! We are also looking for donations of tape, gift bags, tissue and wrapping paper, ribbon, bows etc.

All donations should be brought into the school between December 5th and December 12th.

If you are interested in volunteering on the day of the Extravaganza or the evening before to set up, please contact Suzie Williamson at

University of Waterloo Earth Science Museum - Grade 4 Field Trip

The grade 4s travelled to the Earth Sciences Museum for a field trip that truly rocked (rocks and mineral that is).  We had the opportunity to walk through a recreation of a real silver mine from Cobalt, Ontario, dig for fish fossils and observe many different kinds of rock and minerals.

Scholastic Book Fair Results and THANK YOU!

Thank you family and friends for helping us sell over $5600 in books this year. We exceeded our goal of $5000. In return we raised about $3000 to put towards new books, a storage unit and maker building materials for the LLC. Thank you to everyone for their help and support, especially Mrs. Wozniak, our parent chair for Book Fair.

Fun in the LLC this week

We had a lot of fun using our new LEGO, Hot Wheels and Innovation tables purchases. These tools help to make learning fun.

In Grades 1& 2 we read “How to Catch a Snowman” and then built some fun contraptions  ourselves.

Check out the Hot Wheels Mania from one of the FDK classes in the LLC, this is collaborative problem solving at its best!

Junior grades having some fun with a game of “Dramatic Pictionary” using our new Innovation Tables.
